Malia Leinau Photography offers a broad range of photographic talents. With over twelve years of professional experience in journalism, event coverage, portrait, fashion, and fine art photography. She is adept at making the experience fun and professional. No matter what you have in mind Malia Leinau is willing to work with you to achieve the beautiful shots you’ve been searching for.


Malia approaches every project with her creative and unique style. Her passion for photography began at the age of seven-years-old when her parents gave Malia her first 8 mm camera.Over the next twenty years she accumulated vast experience in the field. Malia began apprenticing for several prominent local wedding photographers from the age of fifteen. In 2006, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In the last year her work appeared in over twenty exhibitions. She has been showcased at galleries such as the Arts at Marks Garage and the UH Manoa Main Gallery. Her photo journalism has been published on O’ahu, Big Island, and Maui newspapers.
From runway shows, politicians, to blushing brides Malia’s subjects feel at ease when she is behind the camera with her relaxed, well-developed style.Whether it is capturing the moments of an event or directing pose technique for a model she is adept at making the experience fun and professional.
